In 1945 the US military ordered 500,000lbs (or 250,000kg) of powdered orange juice from the Florida Foods Corporation, which later became Vacuum Foods and later on the Minute Maid Corporation. The corporation was bought by The Coca-Cola Company in 1960 and it was the first time they’d ever produced non-sparkling drinks.
